Mercy Neighborhood Ministries’ wish list contains items that we use on a regular basis in our programs as well for general office use. 2022 Wish List
Senior & Supportive Services: Our home care aides, nurses, social worker and senior services associates provide direct home care, health assessments and a wide array of advocacy and supports to enable our elderly clients to remain living independently for as long as possible. The seniors can access our community food pantry and receive weekly calls and notes from staff and volunteers that diminish their isolation. Due to COVID 19 pandemic, we are delivering prepacked food bags to 80 seniors in Walnut Hills, Evanston, and Avondale twice a month. We also provide payee service for 30 individuals with mental health and emotional challenges, and crisis assistance services for our neighbors of 45206.

Workforce Development and Job Readiness Programs: Our education team of instructors and volunteers effectively assists at-risk adult learners and job seekers to attain the skills they need to enter or advance in the job market. We are an approved Aspire (formerly ABLE/GED) site and use best practices of ACT’s careerreadiness and aptitude assessments and the KeyTrain/ National Career Readiness Certification programs to connect this basic education with work readiness.
The Hospital Worker Readiness Program provides job-related knowledge and skills for entry level employment in dietary, environmental services, and patient transport within the Mercy Health hospital system.
Our Home Care Aide Training Program is the only such in the area and has developed a reputation for excellence and setting best practices. A large network of home care agencies hires our graduates, who are ready to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation. Those who need additional training and support
move into our supported employment program where they access a job coach, wrap around services and additional workplace and academic training. Once established on the health care pathway, opportunities for advancement include our State Tested Nurse Aide Training program to prepare for employment in a hospital or long-term care setting.
