History
The touch of mercy
Mercy Neighborhood Ministries, Inc. (MNM) was created by the 2007 merger of the Sisters of Mercy H.O.M.E. Program, Healing Connections Associates and Mercy Connections. These agencies have collaborated for many years because of their shared commitment to the mission of the Sisters of Mercy and common histories of serving the residents of its inner-city neighborhood. Mercy Neighborhood Ministries continues the work of the three predecessor agencies, including:
- services for the elderly poor and people with special needs who are not receiving the basic necessities of life, provided by Sisters of Mercy H.O.M.E. Program since 1976;
- home health care services for the elderly and employment and support programs for disadvantaged women seeking self-sufficiency, provided by Healing Connections Associates since 1993;
- and educational programs, tools and support to help individuals break the cycle of poverty in their lives, provided by Mercy Connections since 1996;
By combining the strengths of the three individual agencies. MNM has expanded its impact in the community through program expansion and collaborative partnerships.
